Jenna Beem, L.Ac

I battled chronic migraines starting at age 17.  After college, they took over my life.  As a skeptical physicist, I did not explore any “alternative” methods until I ran out of medical options.  My hard working doctors tried every medication and experimental treatment possible without success.  I had given up hope until my first acupuncture treatment.  It changed my life.

The approach was unlike anything I had experienced.  My acupuncturist took the time to understand all of the physical, emotional, and lifestyle factors contributing to my migraines.  He used acupuncture and healing touch to draw the headache out.  A weight was lifted.  It was amazing. The physicist in me wanted to understand the energetic nature of the qi flow I felt.  I wanted to learn everything about the nature of health.  It was both a personal necessity of finding a pain free, happy life as well as a passion to be shared with others.  Thus began a life long study.
This quest has taken me around the world.  First, I completed the masters program at Bastyr University in Kenmore, WA. The program ended in Shanghai, China where I observed doctors in hospitals who were fully educated as medical doctors as well as Chinese medicine.

For 5 months after that, I traveled throughout Southeast Asia discussing medical systems with people from around the world.  Every culture has a unique approach to health.  We are so lucky to have access to finest insights of medical science as well as sacred teachings of ancient cultures. Finally, I moved back to Seattle and opened Health Discovery Acupuncture clinic.  Now I have the pleasure of utilizing what I have learned, while continuously gaining new insights, to help others optimize their health.

Lillian Lee, L.Ac, PhD

Dr. Lillian Lee is a lifelong student of the art of Traditional Chinese medicine (TCM). Her passion was first ignited by her mother who introduced her daughter to the power of the needles when she was just five years old.  Lillian carried her interest in TCM with her to the United States, where it lingered in the back of her mind while she pursued a more traditional course through American academics. She graduated from UC Davis with a degree in Biology, and within a year, she began Doctorate studies at her alma mater in pharmicology/Toxicology. Her graduate work at Davis produced a number of published papers, finally culminating in a PhD.

Dr. Lee specializes in acupuncture and Chinese herbal medicine.  Her training focuses on the treatment of chronic pain, joint pain, arthritis, muscle ache and general sports medicine. Her treatments extend to many other things, including:
1. Facial rejuvenation
2. Stroke recovery
3. Depression/Anxiety
4. Fibromyalgia
5. Chronic Fatigue
6. Menopausal Symptoms
Dr. Lee loves to work with patients, watching their faces light up as her needling relieves discomfort they have often suffered for years. She loves the holistic approach that acupuncture takes with patient health, treating the entire individual rather than a single symptom. Dr. Lee is extremely passionate about her work, doing whatever she can to make sure that each patient receives the best possible, personalized care.

Outside of her practice, Dr. Lee is endlessly busy. She loves to read and learn, often juggling three or four books at a time on her Ipad while running on the treadmill. She has a four and a half year-old son named Desmond who keeps her on her toes. He’s definitely a handful, but he’s a wonderful thing to come back to after a long day in the clinic.!!!!
